The man who strides into a day in our Glen Plaid Pant is a confident one, shaking off the world’s troubles and optimistic that he can find a way forward. This is a man who will not be deterred — little wonder that it’s a pattern once worn by square-shouldered types like the Duke of Windsor and Ronald Reagan. (Reagan wore glen plaid in Europe in the early 1980’s and the usual bunch of stiffs thought it wasn’t “Presidential.” As if Presidential must be dull.) The fabric of our pant? Super 120’s wool from Italy. The construction? Wholly American. The plaid pattern? Scottish, of course, originally from Glen Urquhard, a valley in Inverness-shire. Ah, if only nations could work together this well on matters other than trousers. Flat front, lined to the knee. Two 1/8 top pockets in front, belt loops and a keeper loop. Two back welt pockets — the one on the right has a button and buttonhole, the one on the left has a buttoned flap. Split waistband. Made in USA. Brown.
