Selvage Denim Jean

Jeans that are both of-the-moment and deeply rooted in the past. The selvage denim is crafted on old-fashioned shuttle looms, wonderfully inefficient equipment that weaves a continuous thread in order to create a “self-edge.” Unlike lesser denims that require the edges to be stitched, these can’t fray because they are not open. Technical jean talk aside, what you’ll
instantly appreciate is the tighter weave and the heavier weight. Put these on and you realize they’re going to last decades longer than any jeans you’ve worn before, especially those acid-washed aberrations. (Of course, considering their general ghastliness, it’s a good thing those did fall apart.) Naturally, as more people have come to appreciate selvage denim, unscrupulous merchants have begun to offer inferior mass-market versions that are a far cry from the genuine article. Made in the USA. Antique brass burrs and zipper.
