Trousers can be so damn tricky. Ill-fitting ones betray immediately. Yet those that toil for attention seem about as appropriate as a pair of tights borrowed from Baryshnikov. These flat-front pants solve the dilemma, pairing a subtle patterned wool, silk and linen blend from Scotland with classic tailoring that men — but not male fashion models — will appreciate. Like so much that is well-made, they move easily in virtually any setting, whether it’s one that is truly casual or one that is less so. Two seat pockets, one with a buttoned flap, one with a welt.
