If more shorts had the sense of purpose that these ones do, perhaps men wouldn’t occasionally feel foolish — sometimes too schoolboy, sometimes too skater — when they don them. These are designed with the understanding that the best sailors are the ones wholly prepared for the unusual challenges that open water can present. Crafted of 72% cotton blended with 28% nylon, they have a coating that repels water and shrugs off dirt and oil. The left front leg features a safety pocket with a zipper to keep water out and vitals — island nation currency, a family clam chowder recipe — in. A “dagger” pocket was added for the buccaneer that’s in every man of the sea. Adjustable waist tabs, double layer seat. Imported. Khaki.
